Gerald R. Ford International Airport (GRR) is the nearest airport that serves the city of Grand Rapids. It is the largest airport in West Michigan and the second largest airport in the state of Michigan, after Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport. It has been ranked as one of the top five airports in the world by Airports Council International.

GRR serves five major airlines including Southwest, United, Delta, American and Allegiant and offers non-stop flights to 23 major destinations such as Denver, Chicago, Detroit, Houston, New York, Minneapolis, Las Vegas, Orlando, St. Louis, Tampa, Washington DC and more.

Arriving and Getting Around Grand Rapids via Road

Grand Rapids is connected to all the major cities by a number of highways. Interstate 96 connects the city to Muskegon, Lansing and Detroit. Interstate 196 runs from east to west in the city and connects to I 96 and I 94. US 131 runs north to south and connects Grand Rapids to Kalamazoo and Cadillac. Other major highways include M 6, M 11, M 21, M 37, M 44 M 45, M 121 and A 45.
